Canon 40D for $650

If you want to pay a flat price, with no rebates or hassle for your next camera – this is not the deal for you. This is for the go-getters who are willing to put in a little hustle to get the best possible price.

Here’s the rundown:

Canon is currently offering a $200 instant rebate and $50 mail in rebate on its 40d digital SLR. Great, that puts the price at about $900 give or take. However, they are also offering a $300 mail in rebate if you purchase a Pixma 9000 or Pixma Pro 9500 printer along with the camera.

Here’s where the work comes in.

Add the 40d and Pixma 9000 to your cart. Your current total will be $1,358.90

Use the coupon code CJMDY55 to knock another $10 off the price. The shipping is free, so your OTD price is $1348.90.

Here’s where the fun begins! When you get the printer and camera, submit the rebate. With another $300 off, you’re down to $1048.90

Submit the $50 mail in rebate for the 40d body (this requires a serial number off a registered Rebel, but thats it).

However, the real deal here is that the printer sells on eBay, Craigslist or your local swap meet for anything in the ballpark from $350 to $400! Assuming you can get $350 (based on completed eBay auctions, thats no problem), you’re sitting on a 40d body for (eBay fees forgotten) $648.90.

That’s less then the consumer 450D (XSi)!

Are the Pixma and instant rebates be stackable?

Thanks!

Sam,

Yes, they are. The instant rebates aren’t rebates at all, they’re already deducted when you add it to the cart. The Pixma rebate is a mail in rebate.
